The exterior space of the house is characterized by linear flowerbeds surrounding the house and a large platform in the south-facing area where the pool is located, while the other areas remain unadorned. The design aims to create a consolidated, beautiful space that allows for full enjoyment.

Since the consolidated part of the house consists essentially of built and paved areas, the intention is to create a green and natural setting that surrounds it and allows residents visual and physical contact with nature. The adopted style aims to meet the client’s vision with pockets of vegetation, highly ornamental plants, rocky accents, and hedges along the property boundaries.

At the main entrance to the property, the existing lawns are maintained, adding a row of Teucrium fruticans. In the flowerbed surrounding the house to the west, a row of Phormium interspersed with Ajuga is proposed, creating a dynamic interplay of shapes, heights, and colors. Two ornamental banana trees appear on the facade, giving it a unique touch. A similar composition will appear in the flowerbed to the southeast.

On the opposite slope, a vegetable garden is proposed. Due to its personal and experimental nature, its planning and planting should be the responsibility of the client. Nevertheless, a strawberry tree is proposed at the northernmost point to enhance the view from the main facade, and a pomegranate tree in front of a window to maximize the internal/external view.

The southern platform stands out for its spaciousness and multifunctionality, lacking a human scale and comfort. It can be divided into two zones: a solarium supporting the pool and a peripheral circuit in direct contact with the house. The proposal aims to emphasize this boundary through the placement of long planters that will simultaneously create interesting scenarios from the windows and increase privacy. The bedrooms will have a small barrier in relation to the pool activity, and those on the solarium will have another visual barrier in relation to neighboring properties.

Around the platform, a large lawn emerges where plant islands are cut out. These islands will feature compositions of species that, together, will create successive visual barriers to the exterior, as well as unifying the space as a whole. Hedges are planned along the boundaries. Trees of different sizes help to close off visibility in height, while also creating some shade. On the islands closest to the property boundaries, micro-terrain modeling will emerge to emphasize the effect of the space closing in on itself. The intention is for the garden to live inwards.

Associated with the shrubbery masses, some rocks will appear. The islands will be covered with pine bark to reduce the thermal and water variability of the soil, making planting viable.

The southern island centers this entire aspect of the house and functions as a tropical backdrop.
